Changes @ Club Josephina

The legendary Stead Foden is currently working on a new phase of Club Josephina which will hopefully give me more time to devote to my clothing line, less problems with event hosting, assist with paying my land tier fees (which now include VAT), and give me a break from the event side of the business (I will still host regular events).

I have more than enough responsibility in my RL to deal with, and this past fortnight my SL has not, been as enjoyable for me, as it should be.

I contemplated selling the Club, and actually put the land up for sale on Monday but removed it from the market when I was thinking more rationally. I want the Club to survive but don't want two full time jobs (one in SL and one in RL), and I don't want the hassle I got on Sunday night by way of being told how awful I am by someone I considered a friend. It makes me feel bad, and sad.

So, Club Josephina will continue but will change dramatically, possibly pretty quickly and I feel people will be as excited about the changes as I am. I believe the Club is going back to its roots and becoming what I always wanted it to be.

Watch this space. Good times are ahead.

Amended Event Details for Sat 17 Nov 07

The Newbie Welcome Event will now start at 3pm SLT (11pm UK time) for 2 hours on Saturday 17 November 2007.

The reason for this change is I have a back injury that was dormant but has now flared up and I can get an evening appointment cheap on Saturday to get complementary/alternative treatment that may help me become more mobile (painkillers make me ill).

I apologise for any inconvenience and the SL events diary has been updated with the new event time.

Anniversary Reggae Party & Bendy's Hen Night

On Tuesday 21 August 2007 it was the Reggae Party to celebrate the opening of the club one month ago. Overall the reggae theme was well received and I will run the theme again in the future.

On Thursday 23 August 2007 (last night) the club hosted Bendy Binder's Hen Night with a Foxiest Av Contest (won by the bride-to-be herself) and male pole dancers (many thanks to Nathan, Ottfried, KT, Doume and Zacharius). The rolling restart interrupted the party briefly and some small radio streaming problems but overall it was a fun night.

That leaves two more events this week, today (Friday 24 August) at 1pm SLT and tomorrow (Saturday 25 August) still to run.

Country & Salsa Nights

The Country Themed Event was on Friday 17 August 2007, the Salsa Event is still going as I write this post (Saturday 18 August 2007).

There were less people at the Country Night but those who were there entered into the spirit of dressing up and Melania Dagger won the Grooviest Av Contest and the 100L prize.

There was a competition tie at tonights Salsa Contest for Hottest Av and the prize was split between Melania Dagger and Ottfried Merlin - Each winning 50L prize.

Group membership has increased to 242.

The Reality of Running a Second Life Business by Josephina Bonetto

Club Josephina opened for business on Saturday 21 July 2007 at 11am SLT. Now that I am nearing the end of my first month of trading, I am writing this blog entry to provide an insight into my experience so far.

One choice I made in starting my own business was to buy mainland with no covenant. The negative side to this is there is less prim space. I purchased my first 512 sq.m parcel of land in Gula from my sign up bonus, weekly stipends, and camping proceeds for $L5, 500. I now own 2,048 sq.m in Gula, 512 sq.m in Zoshchenko and 2,048 sq.m in Salliohsis.

On average, since I opened, Club Josephina has hosted three events a week with mixed results but the club is open 24/7. Non cash prizes given away at events have included a Skybox and a Sexgen Bed.

Club Josephina Statistics:
* Group Membership 234.
* Club Managers = 2.
* Fired employees = 3.
* Dance Machines = 2.
* Total Votes Received To Date = 49.
* Total Unique Visitors To Date = 902.
* Total Unique Visitors On Opening Night = 53.

* Rental of vending spaces in the Mini Mall on the Upper Floor for $L100 per week for 20 prims.

Examples of Club Josephina Costs:
* Land Tier Fee for Club and Garden alone is $15USD per month.
* The original nightclub purchase cost $L2, 500, the rebuild cost nothing.
* Modifiable and copiable tip jars cost $L1, 000 to purchase.
* Modifiable and copiable dance poles cost $L3, 000 to purchase (they can be configured for camping).
* My now redundant Sploder cost $L399 to purchase.
* Advertising for the Club is currently $L50 per week. On off Search entry fee of $L30.
* Group set up costs a one time fee of $L100.
* Three contests per week with $L100 cash prize = $L300.

* Tips/Gifts/Donations/Sales for Club Josephina = $L4, 234.
